Jean Adhémar (* 18 marca 1908; † 30 czerwca 1987) był francuskim historykiem sztuki, archiwistą, specjalistą od druku i wykładowcą uniwersyteckim.
Jean Adhémar był synem prawnika z Prowansji. W 1928 roku wstąpił do École nationale des Chartes, gdzie został studentem Marcela Auberta. Adhémar ukończył studia jako archiwista w 1932 roku. Następnie przeniósł się na Sorbonę, gdzie doktoryzował się w 1938 roku pod kierunkiem Henriego Focillona rozprawą Lithographies de paysage en France à l'époque romantique, a jego praca L'antiquité classique dans l'art du Moyen Âge français została później opublikowana w serii Instytutu Warburga pod tytułem Influences antiques dans l'art du Moyen-Âge français: recherches sur les sources et les thèmes d'inspiration. Związek z Fritzem Saxlem szedł w parze ze stanowiskiem Adhémara w Bibliothèque nationale de France, gdzie pracował od 1932 roku w dziale rycin i fotografii, zorganizowanym przez ówczesnego dyrektora Juliena Caina (1887-1974). W 1935 roku zorganizował wystawę poświęconą grafikom Francisco Goi. Od 1956 roku Adhémar był redaktorem Gazette des Beaux-Arts, mianowanym przez George'a Wildensteina. Rozszerzył zakres Gazette o historię kolekcjonerstwa i XIX-wieczne karykatury. W latach 1961-1977 Adhémar był dyrektorem Gabinetu Druku BNF.
Wraz z Jeanem Seznecem opublikował cztery tomy krytyki Salonu Diderota w latach 1957-1966. Adhémar założył magazyn Nouvelles de l'estampe i był redaktorem magazynu Terres d'images. Wykładał na Wolnym Uniwersytecie w Brukseli, w École du Louvre i na Harvardzie. Adhémar jest autorem licznych tekstów, a także przedmów do nowych wydań dzieł literackich; jego żona Hélène Adhémar była również historykiem sztuki.
